I used the product for a few months in my new drip irrigation system and got enough experience to write a review.

The product is fantastic, is very reliable, easy to program, and it works. Interchangeable functions of the controller is great for ease of programming. Nevertheless, the leadership of optional remote control (though not wireless) that I buy to be able to separate the management of the house. That would be great. But when I called the manufacturer, they said that I never (or were) available. They said that they had received the body of the old leadership out of date. Who will be a great comfort to me, and to return the product because of this. But it works so well, and I do not know about this possibility, and only after reading the instructions. So I decided to stop it and gave it four stars. If the optional remote control is possible, I would have 5-star.

The device was not as watertight as we would like to see. But this is not a problem. I just “pockets” on the installation using the ZIP-LOCK plastic bag and installed in such a way as to open the bag at the bottom of the page. It must be really waterproof.

a wonderful timer, that programs specific days of the week(a township requirement)…i have been waiting for a replacement for a similar, but less robust, melnor product, that was discontinued 6-7 years ago…have tried many others…no luck! so i was happy to find these….my only complaint is that the swivel on the electronic housing has only a 60 or so range…it needs a bit more..

Having been dissapointed with less expensive timers, I finally bit the bullet and bought the 62001. I could have saved a lot of money if I had done this to begin with. It works reliably, and is very easy to program. Couldn’t be happier.

Great product!

I have had this for about 1.5 months. It works as described. I have had no problems with leaks or water damage. My wife was able to reprogram this item while I was out of town without the manual. It is a little loud when the valve opens. It can be startling at 4 am if you aren’t sure what it is. We can hear it through our small house. Note: This could be a function of the water pressure as well.

I’ve used orbit sprinkler timers for years now without any regrets; however, this hose timer is a first for me. I sat in my living room and programmed the clock just by using the quick reference on the lid of the timer. I took the clock out to my green house where I hoped it would rum my misters and a soaker hose. It runs beautifully and on time there are no leaks and no worries. I had to place the timer in a tight corner but the whole mechanism swivels so I can easily read the display. I love the manual feature so I can turn on the misters any time and go in and get cooled down, LOL. Yes you might pay a bit more for this clock but it is well worth it. I’m the type of person who checks every product before I buy, there were so many disappointments with other brands so I decided to stay with Orbit their products have never given me any grief.

Awesome timer

I purchased this timer after I researched almost every timer available at Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-mart and Amazon. When it was all said and done, this one was the one that was rated highest and had the best features. I tried to order this timer last summer 2009, but the item was never in stock, so against better judgment, I purchased 2 Vigoro timers from Home Depot ($35 each) and it was a waste of money. One of them leaked and the other one had already been returned by someone else. To my satisfaction they were back in stock this year so I ordered 2 and they are awesome!

Very Good except for the cheap hose connection

I found the Orbit 62001 watering timer very easy to use. The digital interface was really easy and intuitive. The only problem I had is with the cheap black plastic hose connector at the bottom. Several times when I was adjusting my hose, it would pop off by the connector. If you were to keep disconnecting the hose, you will see wear on the plastic connector. It gives me a sense that the plastic threads on it are wearing out and will eventually be gone. I’ll also recommend you use plumber’s tape to make the connection tighter. In general, it’s a great unit if you don’t screw/unscrew the hose too often.

Excellent and flexible programming timer

I’ve been using this for about 3 weeks now and it’s so easy to use. It’s nice that you can detach the programming module from the valve too. I was very impressed to see how many options there were for programming it: certain days of week, every 2nd day, every 3rd day, etc. I like the feature to just cancel the programming for 24 hours. So, when I see rain is coming or it’s raining, I just run out to the timer, press “clear” and the system goes to sleep for 24 hours and then resumes from there automatically. Manual override is easy to set by just entering the minutes you want it to run and you can rest assured the water will turn off and you won’t need to worry about forgetting it.

Reliable Timer – Easy to use

I’m here buying my second timer because I have been very pleased with the first one. After going through several other timer brands at the beginning of last summer, I bought an Orbitz timer as well as the Clabor 2-outlet timer. Both came highly recommended on Amazon. I found them both to be very reliable and well-built. However, I found the Orbitz to be much easier to program than the Clabor. The Clabor, while reliable, isn’t very intuitive. The Orbitz is very easy to use and program. It’s also easy to use in ‘manual’ mode, unlike the Clabor. Both timers survived the winter just fine (in my shed, not on the faucet) and the battery in both was also functional.

If you’re trying to chose between the two, I’d recommend the Orbitz.
